Installation, operation and troubleshooting
The technical documentation is being expanded as version 4.0 rolls out. The basics are here; if you need something that is missing, get in touch and we will write it.
Before you install
The client requires Windows and administrator rights during installation, because a driver has to be registered. After installation no special rights are needed for it to run.
System requirements
- Windows 10 version 1903 or later, 32-bit or 64-bit, or Windows 11
- 4 GB RAM, 8 GB recommended
- 500 MB free disk space
- An internet connection to fetch updated threat data
- Administrator rights during installation
The order
- Create an account in the customer panel and add at least one licence
- Get the installation file from the panel
- Run the installer as administrator
- Enter the licence key when the installer asks for it
- Check that the device appears in the panel
If something goes wrong
If the service does not start after installation, first check that the device has internet access and that the licence key is entered correctly. If the problem persists, send the error message to support.
Installing in WordPress
The plugin is installed like any WordPress plugin and activated with the licence key from the panel. After activation it fetches the threat data automatically.
- Get the plugin file in the customer panel
- Upload and activate the plugin in WordPress
- Enter the licence key in the plugin settings
- Check that the website appears in the panel
If the site already has another security plugin that blocks traffic, the two can get in each other's way. Run one at a time and evaluate.
Everyday tasks
Most of what needs doing on an ongoing basis happens in the panel and requires no action on the device.
- Add a licence to a new device or website
- Release a licence from a device being taken out of service
- Start and stop protection on an individual client
- Read logs per device or across all of them
- Buy additional licences
Version 4.0 is new and the documentation is being filled in as we go. If a description of something specific is missing, write to support — questions that recur become documentation.
